BMW X5 v Range Rover v Porsche Cayenne

hey peeps need a bit of help deciding which car to go for

ive narrowed it down to the BMW X5, Range Rover or the Porsche Cayenne

obviously want to spend as little as possible

price range is from around 05-08 plate

so looking at the E53 BMW X5, the L322 Range Rover and the MK1 Porsche Cayenne

reliability is important to me more then performance

im looking at a petrol so has to be ULEZ Free

any help would be appreciated, many thanks

I chose Cayenne. I was sold on Range Rover sport but the reliability even for a 2020 seems just not to be there. And the insurance price among GLE450, Cayenne, Range Rover and X5, Porsche was the lowest. Dollar for dollar you get a few less gadget in the Cayenne but it definitely rides better than Mercedes. I have only had it for 5 days.

I’ve got a E53 X5 and a 2008 V6 Cayenne. Porsche is more fun the drive, BMW slightly more day to day practical. I can do repairs on both, BMW tends to leak oil and has had more issues...Porsche parts are very expensive...BMW just expensive! If I had to keep one it would be the Porsche, after all it’s a Porsche and I like the “driving” experience

Porsche is a Porsche. No arguments. I've had all three, there is nothing like the sheer pleasure of driving my Porsche. Not that I exceed speed limits (not by much) take screeching corners or think I am a Le Mans driver.

Sometimes I just take the car for a long drive to relax. No radio, XM, music. Just listen to the car.

The BMW nor Mercedes never gave that level of pleasure.

Of the three, BMW or Mercedes prolly would have more gadgets. Porsche is very old fashioned when it comes to gadgets, like Lane Departure warning, adaptive cruise etc.
