12,737 miles, running at 70 MPH noises are heard, Check engine light comes on ,car sound like a street racer.
I exit down ramp and light goes off. Car still loud and sluggish. Within 5 blocks the car shuts off
Towed to Dealer who with me are now 250 miles away from Home. With a enterprise cheap loaner it travel home some 4.5 hours. That week began the process of getting them at this dealership to do something
They explained Porsche protocol. Well here is week 2 and Porsche is sending a new engine. WOW. BUT what concerns me is a comment a service tech made to someone that Porsche was NOT surprised at this.
WONDERING if anyone had heard about this kind of thing ( possible bearing disintegration, caused Shrapnel to be spread throughout the engine. IS there an inherent problem they know about
Would anyone have any knowledge. This has nothing to do with the dealer. They have been nice to deal with but i am concerned about the future with this engine

Hello there, so sorry to here your news on your new Cayenne. You are now the 2nd person in as many weeks to post on this issue. I don’t know if you are a Facebook member, but on there there is a group page “Porsche Cayenne Owners” and this couple just had the same engine failure. Look for a post from Melissa Dow on Sunday Dec. 29, 2019 in the aforementioned group page. Good luck, and keep us posted on your outcome.

Once again, what did the dealer tell you the failure was?
