You're putting the cart in front of the horse. It's more prudent to first decide whether or not you're actually going to buy the car.

It's hard to determine if the warranty is worth it for you. When something does go wrong having the warranty does help. But if nothing really goes wrong than the warranty was a waste of money. There is no way to tell if something will go wrong or not.

It's a gamble where the only thing you will loose in the end is money. So if the money is more valuable than the warranty. Don't get the warranty.
