I considered the SRT8 briefly. Scratched it off the list when I saw the towing spec. I can haul 3.5 tones with the Cayenne, the Jeep is only rated for ~2.3 tonnes

But I bet the SRT8 is faster than the Cayenne in the 1/4 mile. SRT8 is even as fast or faster than a Nissan GTR in the 1/4 mile!!

OP i'd like to hear from you on the pro's and con's of owning a Cayenne and SRT8!
No doubt. But I wasn't lookin' for a drag racer. I wanted a luxury SUV that could tow economically. The SRT8 didn't qualify

I love the SRT8 Grand Cherokee and have considered getting one. It is very good at it's intended function. It is fast, but not that fast though.

A stock SRT8 Grand Cherokee would get annihilated by a stock Nissan GTR. The two are not in the same league. A SRT8 GC might be able to launch as violently as a GTR, but by 30 mph it will lose ground VERY rapidly. Motortrend clocked the 2012 SRT8 GC at 13.3 @ 103.2 mph and the 2012 Nissan GTR at 11.2 @ 122.7 mph.
