In the city of Steinegg, Germany, a test mule 2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet burned down during a routine test drive. Around 6:30 yesterday morning, the Neuhausen Steinegg fire department marched out with a total of twelve men after the driver reported an engine fire in his 911.
“The car has burned like tinder,” said fire chief Commander Klaus Buchinger. The car was completely burnt out within 15 minutes.
According to a Porsche insider, the camouflaged Porsche 911 was on a test drive using an engine specifically developed for the Chinese market. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. The vehicle was transported to the Porsche center in Weissach for further examination.
