2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel: The Jalopnik Review

Finally some Cayenne diesel reviews. I will be surprised if anybody has much bad to say about it. In the 350 miles with mine so far, I couldn't be happier...except for the fact that it is not a performance oriented diesel engine. I would love it if Porsche would build something similar to the engine found in the European market BMW X5 50d.
Awesome post, love the article. It really gives you a feel for the Diesel Cayenne as if you were in it. With 400 FT-LB of torque this thing is a beast!

Yes, on this type of vehicle I definitely value torque much more than horsepower. It is great. I just hope they sell many more than they expect to and decide to create a Cayenne S diesel in the future...Something like a 325 hp & 500 lb/ft higher revving twin turbo 3.0l diesel would be a dream come true. I wouldn't suspect it would have much lower fuel economy either.

I am not downing the current diesel at all, as it is phenomenal. I just am one of those guys who can never have enough power and thinks the U.S. should get many more diesel options.
