As its best selling vehicle, the Cayenne is an important product for Porsche, and the German luxury company is preparing its SUV for a facelift as seen testing in our spy photos.
The new Cayenne will borrow some style from the new Panamera, with the biggest changes coming to the front and rear bumpers, as well as the addition of new slimmer lights out back. Wheel design will also be revised for the Cayenne, as well as some light interior changes.
Engines may added to the Cayenne lineup, including a new biturbo 3.0-liter V6 that makes 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque in the Panamera. That engine helped the Panamera increase its fuel savings by 18 percent, an advancement that is likely for the Cayenne, though the percentage will surely change. The cosmetic changes are also said to bring some weight savings, further helping Porsche’s SUV boost its mpg rating.
The new Porsche Cayenne is expected to debut in late 2014 as a 2015 model year vehicle.
