I heard it's a really complicated process that takes about 2 hours for a qualified Porsche mechanic. Apparently it's under the intake manifold depending what engine you have. What engine do you have?

Is the Porsche starter done it's days already or is starting to go bad?

cayenne starter

thanks for the info, I want to know how to get to it, I don't know how to take the top part of the covers and all off so I can get to it. If I can get to it, I can do the rest. I need to take it off, so I can get a remanufactured one and install it. Does anyone have photo's of how to remove what needs to be removed to get to the starter?
Starter is making a grinding noise each time the car is started.
thanks
