Porsche has had to halt production of both its Panamera and Cayenne models in Leipzig, Germany because of flooding in the Czech Republic.
High water in the area is making it impossible to transport necessary supplies via train to the plant.
“We have a bottleneck in the supply of car bodies built in the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava, which are transported by train across the Czech Republic to our plant in Leipzig,” a Porsche spokeswoman told Automotive News.
The supply of Panamera bodies isn’t affected because they are produced in Hanover, Germany, however production of both cars has been stopped.
Porsche says it will be able to make up for lost time through increased shifts at a later date.
