Is it possible to retrofit Factory Air Suspension on Cayenne without?

Hey All!

I have been searching for 13-16' Diesel with Air for the last 2yrs (mind you I have found 5, but everytime I reach out to pull the trigger and buy it- they are gone, gone and gone).

So that said, is why I'm looking for a slightly different approach. Meaning is it possible to retrofit an non-Air Cayenne with a full factory version?

I assume the expense will be significant if so...But so are most of the Diesels I've found with Air too.

Thank you

Believe you are on the right track with a diesel that has air suspension. That is how we ordered ours from new. Ten years to date with 137k miles of off-road adventures so far, much more to come. Have traveled from the frozen Arctic at Tuktoyaktuk down to the hot Chihuahuan desert. Here is a link to The Planet-9 sister site page Porsche Cayenne Offroad with some of what they are capable of doing. Ours is completly stock w only body protection added. 'Lift kit' not needed or wanted.
When the new off-roader we have on pre-order arrives next year we will have to decide what to do with our 958 diesel w air. Reason for the new rig is to travel beyond North America where ULSD is not available.
Good luck with your quest and keep us updated!

The expense of retrofitting the air suspension would probably exceed the value of the vehicle, unless you can find a wrecked diesel with air-suspension, buy the wreck and transfer everything over, doing the labor yourself. It will require more than just the mechanical components, there are extensive electronic system changes and wiring changes, probably meaning major wiring harnesses will need to be replaced.

Given enough money - most anything can be done (see orbiting space station..) but is it worth it? in this case, I'd say no, just keep looking. Put a search on places like Bring-A-Trailer for every diesel Cayenne showing up for auction. Sooner or later one is bound to show up. They're rare, but not non-existent (as Otis is proof of..)

Why the obsession with diesel? Considering the cost of diesel fuel it’s probably the same as premium V6 gas…my full tank shows 515-525 mile range, plus you have to add blue fluid. And diesel economy kicks in on long highway stretches only. I dunno.

My attraction to the diesel is my 31,6 miles per gallon average over the last 6000 miles. But, as you say, it depends on your location. City driving can reduce your average to apx 25. In reality, the issue of getting out of the way of smaller, zippier gas vehicles is the problem.
