Hi all

I noticed I have oil in my coolant at first I thought big trouble and the head gasket was gone,
However I had no sign of water in the oil system I had the oil changed the head pressure tested and it appears ok!
The garage that completed this work opinion was that someone had accidentally top up the oil in the coolant!!!!

I am losing a small amount of oil could it be the oil cooler seals??
Anyone had a similar issue?
It's a 2004 Cayanne s

Thanks
Pikey

This might be because of some leakage in the oil pipe. As this is the technical issue and cannot be rectified by you, it is better for you to visit professional mechanic and get rectified the problem.

Hi,
oil pressure is bigger than coolant pressure, head gasket can leak oil to coolant lines (with bigger pressure).
Second common fault with all cars, is that engine oil cooler leaks oil to the coolant. First i recommend oil cooler remove and try to put pressure in it, so you can see if it leaks. You can try about 5-6 bars (max oil pressure) in it and put cooler in water so you can see if it bubbles.
Easy test if oil cooler is small sized and water cooled.

ps. i have bought my first porsche 2005 cayenne S turbo last week
