Amid sprinklings of trivia, like the fact that Porsche Cars Canada sells more winter tires than its neighbor to the south, CEO Joe Lawrence has revealed a minor, though interesting detail on the upcoming 918 Spyder.

Speaking at a gathering of owners and media attending the American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Mosport over the weekend, Lawrence was asked about the status of the brand’s upcoming hybrid supercar. Recently spotted testing on the Nurburgring in Martini livery (above), Lawrence commented that the car is now making over 800-hp in testing thanks to its combination of a V8 and electric motors.

At last check, the 918 was said to deliver around 770-hp, though it appears the development process has made additional advancements.

Porsche claims the 918 will be able to deliver a 0-60 time of just around 3.0 seconds, while also being able to achieve as much as 74 mpg.

Porsche has already pegged pricing for the 918 at $845,000 with first deliveries beginning late next year.
