Previewed ahead of its world premiere at the
2012 Paris Motor Show is the new
Porsche Cayenne S Diesel, sporting a 4.2-liter V8 with 377-hp and an outrageous 626 lb-ft of torque.
The powerplant is actually an iteration of
Audi‘s 4.2-liter diesel engine and features twin-variable-vane turbochargers and has a 140-hp and 221 lb-ft of torque increase over the standard Cayenne Diesel with a 3.0-liter V6. According to some specifications leaked, the all-wheel drive SUV hits 62-mph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 157-mph.
It is being reported that the Cayenne S Diesel will get 34-mpg on the European test cycle. Torque vectoring will be available as an option on the Cayenne S Diesel.
Unfortunately, the German automaker has
no plans of bringing the Cayenne S Diesel to American shores anytime soon.
