Having already released a 911 Black Edition, and then a Boxster S Black Edition, Porsche is carrying on with its "murdered-out" theme, releasing a Cayman S Black Edition as well. Along with the requisite black bodywork and interior, this Cayman S gets a slight bump in power (10-hp) to 330-hp, which comes on at 7400 rpm, or 200 rpm higher. As a result, the 0-62 mph times are improved slightly (a tenth of a second) to 5.1 seconds with the manual or 5.0 with the dual-clutch PDK system. Opt for the Sport Chrono package and use launch control and it drops to just 4.8 seconds.
Helping to put power to the ground and keep it there in the corners are 19-inch Boxster Spyder wheels (in black, of course). They're slightly wider than on the Cayman S with 235/35/19 tires up front and 265/35/19 on the rear.
As for the Black Edition detailing, it includes black dashboard trim, a black gear selector and even black instrument dials. The door kick plates get special stainless steel 'Black Edition' lettering, plus a plaque on the glove box listing which of the 500 units this model is.
Other features include dynamic cornering Bi-Xenon headlights, climate control and a Sport Design steering wheel.
