Any Porsche fan will tell you that there's always something better than a Turbo – a Turbo S. This rule is about to apply not just to the 911, but also the Panamera, with forum chatter indicating that just such a model will launch as early as next month.
No details of the car's performance have been released, but look for the 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 to be tuned up to the 550-hp mark with a 0-60 mph time around 3.7 seconds.
The timing of next month matches up with both the New York Auto Show and Shanghai Motor Show, and with the original Panamera debuting in Shanghai two years ago, it seems the likely choice. (A simultaneous unveiling is also likely).
A forum member on TeamSpeed has reportedly ordered his Panamera Turbo S already and claims deliveries will take place in June/July.
