Hi, I’ve been looking at purchasing a Cayenne (V6) for some time. I’ve got my eye on three that fit within these parameters: 2007-2009 models with between 50-60000 miles ( 80-100,000 klms), most services (not all) done by Porsche.
I have searched this site and gained a fair bit of information, but I would appreciate your advice on 3 points if you would be so kind:
1. How reliable are these engines when they are 4-5 years old with this many miles, if they have been serviced relatively well?
2. Are there any inherent problems that I should look for with a used Cayenne (v6)
3. I have a 16 ft aluminium boat. The specs indicate a v6 should be able to cope with towing a boat of that size - anyone have any comment on that?
Any advice appreciated
Cheers

I was hoping that there'd be some people with some Cayenne expirence they could share on this forum to help out another person. I'm suprised no one has the expirience or the balls to express a personal view - I'm under whelmed.....

1. from my experience the engines in the 07+ cayennes are good, i heard some bad things about older models. Just make sure maintenance was done, service history would be ideal. As you get into the 80-100 000 there might be some major but not as costly things to replace.

2. as for problems, haven't heard of or experiences problems, but I know the v8 turbo model does experience oil consumption problems.

3. as long as you stay within the towing capacity, you'll be fine!

A 16 foot aluminum boat weighs about 12 lbs. Should not be a problem for ANY SUV much less the Cayenne. ANY car with 100K miles may experience engine problems. That is simple logic. Along those same lines, a Honda motor will cost you less for fix those same issues than say...a porsche or a lambo or, etc.

I don't own one (yet) but a buddy of mine picked up a used '05 with 100K miles for $14K so they can be picked up pretty cheap. Hope that helps some
