Sometimes I see people on television who have won a car by playing the lottery. Did any of your friends win as well, or is it all a hoax?

I think that the lottery is pure luck. One of my friends won a big screen TV and he has sold it. He didn't find better use to such a gift. I guess there are some other ways to make a lot of cash instantly.
